Our Why
Since 2013, Geauga Growth Partnership has been committed to connecting youth to the workplace to present opportunities where they can develop vital skills towards future career success, and to support work-based learning and career-focused mentorships.
GGPYOUTHWORKFORCE.COM is a connectivity hub designed to support classrooms and communities in their pursuit to guide all youth on their journey towards career success. Through the efforts of a dedicated cohort of school districts, businesses, and non-profit organizations, students will be able to engage in the full continuum of the career development cycle – building a greater awareness of local industries, exploring viable career opportunities, developing key employability skills through student-centered career readiness activities, and by focusing on a path towards continuous growth once they have entered the workforce.
Pathway to Career Readiness
Our goal is simple – build a platform committed to local school districts that opens up pathways to career success by meeting the necessary graduation requirements for students to obtain the OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal.
The OhioMeansJobs-Readiness Seal is a formal designation for high school students who have demonstrated that they are ready for the next step in their career path, whether in the workforce or the postsecondary classroom.
To earn the seal, students must demonstrate proficiency in the 15 most important professional skills identified by business leaders in Ohio. Through the e-learning content available through GGP Prepare, counselors, teachers, and administrators will have a clear understanding of the requirements to complete the seal, be guided through the process of setting up profiles on the OhioMeansJobs Career Connections website, be supported in the development of a plan to connect, cultivate, and retain mentors from the school, business, and community, and in creating a system for data capture and sharing.
RemotEDx
This website was developed in large part due to funding received through RemotEDx, an Ohio Department of Education initiative that aims to support remote, hybrid, and blended learning partners and programs across the state. The free resources available to educators and school administrators as part of this platform will transform the way we approach career readiness. Together, we will open pathways to careers for ALL youth.
