Career readiness is the process of preparing students, at any age, with the essential skills they need to find, acquire, maintain, and grow within a job. Career readiness lessons will focus on important topics such as oral and written communication, crafting job resumes and preparing for an interview, developing a network of mentors and business professionals to help land that first job and beyond, and so much more. Through this course, students will:

  • be introduced to the third phase of the career development cycle – career readiness;
  • define a potential educational pathway based on the occupation they have identified;
  • explore critical aspects of the job search process – resume development and interviewing basics;
  • and participate in mock-interview scenarios through OhioMeansJobs Career Portal.
